AEU ENDORSES THE DECLARATION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD

RECOGNIZING that the future of man depends on the wisdom and actions of coming generations,

REALIZING that in spite of the strides made in understanding youth, the United States and in fact the world is confronted with the gravest of problems in relation to young people,

WELCOMING the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of the Child, and affirmation of principles to protect children and give them an atmosphere in which to attain fulfillment and to become better equipped to handle their own and world problems, the American Ethical Union RESOLVES:

1. To support the Declaration on the Rights of the Child adopted at the 14th General Assembly of the United Nations, and

2. To give the Declaration wide publicity,

TO THE END that the coming generations will become responsible and effective members of the world community.
